Hynds AI V2T

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Hynds AI V2T does — and does not — do with your data. We designed the product to collect as little as possible, and this document reflects that.

Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. The short version

Hynds AI V2T (“V2T”, “the Service”) is a browser-based voice-to-text tool operated by Hynds AI (“we”, “us”). We built it to be private by default:

  • Speech recognition is handled by your browser's built-in engine (for example, Chrome routes audio through Google's Web Speech API). Your microphone audio is never sent to or stored by Hynds AI servers.
  • The free tier requires no account. We do not build a user profile of you.
  • We keep no server-side database of your transcripts or recordings. Your transcript lives in your browser’s local storage on your device.
  • Text is sent for AI processing only when you click an AI action, and only to fulfill that request. It is not used to train AI models.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number.

The sections below give the detail behind each of those statements.

2. Who we are

The Service is provided by Hynds AI, based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].

3. What we collect — and what we don’t

Voice and transcripts. Speech-to-text is performed by your browser’s built-in speech-recognition engine. Depending on the browser, audio may be processed by the browser vendor’s cloud service (e.g. Chrome sends audio to Google’s Web Speech API). Hynds AI does not receive, process, or store your raw audio. Your transcript and app settings are saved locally in your browser (local storage) so they persist between visits on that device; you can clear them at any time from within the app or your browser settings.

AI action content. When you invoke an AI action (clean up, summarize, translate, draft email, notes, action items, or prompt), the text you chose to process is transmitted to our AI provider to generate the result and return it to you. This content is used only to fulfill your request. It is not used to train models, and we do not retain it in a database after the request completes.

Purchase information (Pro only). If you buy V2T Pro, we store the minimum needed to manage your license: your email address and the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plus your plan and subscription status. This lets us issue and validate your license key. Your payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe — we do not see or store them.

Device activation data (Pro only). To enforce the per-key device limit (a Pro key works on up to three devices at once), we store a random device identifier generated by your browser, together with the associated license key and the time the device was last seen. This identifier is not tied to your real-world identity and is not used to profile or track you across other sites. Inactive devices are released automatically over time.

Technical and log data. Like most web services, our servers process standard request information (such as IP address and browser user-agent) transiently. We use your IP address for short-lived rate limiting to protect the AI endpoints from abuse and runaway cost. We do not use it to profile you.

Advertising (free tier only). The free tier displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Pro removes ads entirely. You can learn about and control ad personalization through Google’s ad settings.

4. How we use data

  • To provide the core dictation and AI features you request.
  • To process purchases, issue and validate Pro license keys, and manage subscriptions.
  • To protect the Service — preventing abuse, fraud, and excessive automated use.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the standard ad serving described above on the free tier.

5. Service providers (sub-processors)

We rely on a small number of reputable providers to operate the Service:

  • Stripe — payment processing and billing (PCI-DSS Level 1).
  • Our AI provider — processes the text you submit for an AI action to return a result; content is not used for model training.
  • Google AdSense — advertising on the free tier only.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure provider — runs the application and its supporting services.

6. Data retention

  • Transcripts and audio: not retained on our servers. Local copies remain in your browser until you clear them.
  • AI action content: not retained after the request is fulfilled.
  • Pro license records: kept while your subscription is active and for as long as reasonably needed afterward for legal, tax, and accounting purposes.
  • Device activation records: kept while a device counts toward your key’s limit; released automatically after a period of inactivity or when your subscription ends.
  • Logs: short-lived and used for security and reliability.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the Service, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), least-privilege access to the limited data we hold, and a payment flow that keeps card data with Stripe. No online service can promise perfect security, but minimizing what we collect is itself a core part of our security posture.

8. International transfers

We operate from the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards. By using the Service you understand your data may be processed in the United States.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because free-tier use involves no account and no server-side profile, most of your data is already under your direct control in your own browser. For information tied to a Pro purchase, contact us at [email protected] and we will help you exercise your rights.

10. Children

The Service is intended for general and business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law in your region.

11. Third-party links

The Service may link to other sites, including hynds.ai. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here; your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
